The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Cross River State command, Corps Commandant Chidiebere Nkwonta has reiterated the corps commitment in ensuring that road users especially drivers in the state adhere to all traffic rules.
The commandant spoke on Friday in Calabar when he led his delegation on a courtesy visit to the office of the Chief Executive Officer of Hit 95.9 FM, Patrick Ugbe.
Nkwonta who noted the misconduct of some drivers, said the corps will deploy more towering vans to impound vehicles of offenders, and also will not compromise its standards as the mobile-court will be taken more seriously.

Also speaking Commandant Nkwonta revealed that the corps is liaising with some hospitals in the state to refer perpetual offenders to certified psychologists for psychological evaluation.

ACTING CHAIRMAN OF THE ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION (EFCC), RESTATES RESOLVE TO STRENGTHEN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION IN THE COUNTRY.

The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has stated his determination and resolve to strengthen the fight against corruption in the country.
Speaking at an interactive session with civil society organisations at the EFCC zonal office in Kano on Friday, Magu said the war against corruption is a continuous exercise which must be won to have a corrupt-free society.
Magu, who commended the present administration for the war against corruption, added that this is the only period in the history of Nigeria to have a government, serious in the anti-corruption fight.
This comes amidst controversies over his continuous stay as chairman of the EFCC despite his rejection by the senate.

ACTING PRESIDENT ORDERS INCREASED SECURITY SURVELLIANCE IN YALA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF CROSS RIVER STATE, FOLLOWING COMMUNAL CLASH BETWEEN WANIKADE AND WANIHEM COMMUNITIES

Acting President, Yemi Osibanjo has ordered security agencies to take urgent steps to avert further break down of law and order in Yalla Local government area of Cross River state.
The order comes after violent broke out between Wanikade and Wanihem communities which led to loss of lives and property.
A statement by the special adviser on media to the acting President, Laolu Akande also directed the National Emergency Management Agency- NEMA to liaise with the state government towards sending relief materials to the affected communities.
The acting President also appealed to the warring communities’ to embrace peace in order to help the government find lasting solution to the crises.
Report s say those affected by the crises are camped at Efiola-emokpe community in Oju local government area of Benue state.

The Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, and labour leaders in Cross River, Comrades John Ushie and Clarkson Otu have applauded the Federal Government (FG) and the Ministry of the Environment, for the approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the 275km superhighway.
Speaking in separate chats in Calabar, they also lauded the state governor, Ben Ayade, for his commitment to the realization of the signature projects.
The Mornarch and the labour leaders who said the project will tremendously boost the economy of the state when realised, also urged relevant stakeholders to support the initiative.
