The All Progressives Congress has intensified its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with a party mobiliser, Shedrach Innocent Egede, leading over 5,000 supporters to a rally in Calabar, Cross River State.
The development comes as political parties and support groups begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Egede, the National Director of Strategic Deployment and Implementation of Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria, led the supporters to the presidential rally in support of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Bassey Otu and other APC candidates.
The turnout, according to a statement by the organisation, on Tuesday was part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and expand its support base ahead of the 2027 elections.
Egede said” he would extend the mobilisation campaign to all 196 political wards in Cross River State, working with coordinators of the organisation to deepen political engagement at the community level.”
He explained that the initiative was aimed at taking the message of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda to residents while consolidating support for Tinubu, Otu and the APC.
The organisation, founded by Barrister Seyi Tinubu, with Honourable Bala Ahmed as its Director-General, has set a target of mobilising more than 10 million votes for President Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
Egede said his responsibility as the organisation’s National Director of Strategic Deployment and Implementation was to ensure that its mobilisation objectives translated into active grassroots participation.
He added that the planned ward-to-ward engagement would focus on building community networks, expanding the organisation’s reach and encouraging support for the APC across the state.
According to him, the mobilisation effort goes beyond attendance at political rallies, as the organisation intends to establish structures capable of sustaining political engagement across communities.
