ECONOMIST IN CROSS RIVER STATE, RICHARD INOYO CALLS FOR INFRASTRUCTURAL DOVELOPMENT IN OTHER LGA’S OF THE STATE

An Economist in Cross River State Richard Inoyo has applauded and constructively criticized the Cross River state government while rating Governor Prince Bassey Otu’s led administration’s one year in office. Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Friday, Inoyo rated the government in different areas, including infrastructural development amongst others “Based on infrastructure, you can rate the government 60 marks if you’re looking at Calabar Municipal Council and Calabar South because we’re seeing improvement on road infrastructure, painting of some few public infrastructure like the stadium and renovation of the state library but, when you want to rate the government on activities across the length and breadth of the state because we still have  18 local government areas across Ogoja, Yala, Akampa, Bakasi and other LGAs, you will likely not give the government a high mark’’. He said. Inoyo further expressed his reservations as regards the economy of the state “We can’t rate the government to be doing well or to be doing more because the truth about this is that if you look at the economy today in Cross River state all the factories that were left by the previous regime are yet to be brought back into full activities and that is just one, outside that access to credit in Cross River state is almost impossible because there is no government institutions helping entrepreneur. Insecurity in Cross River State is still present, a lecturer was kidnapped and the method in which we are fighting this crime is still very primitive.” He added
